Update/add natural monuments to OSM:

  1. load gdos_pomniki_przyrody_punktowe-minified.geojson into JOSM
  2. select natural monuments on an area you’re interested with, invert selection and remove everything else
  3. confirm that your natural monument is not mapped already and if it is, update its properties
  4. confirm the location is good enough as CRFOP accuracy of geolocalized features may vary
    • ~88 of features have got 2 or more species because their location was the same but in reality it is different and might be fixed with good fotomap or survey
  5. the name value should be consistent with the OSM guidelines, meaning it should be capitalized but not be all caps
    • objects in one set often have all the names of these objects combined into one string. In such a case, names can be expected in the same order as the ref:gid= identifiers, so in that same order names can be properly assigned individually
  6. remove podtyp=* property or rename it
  7. powierzch=* specifies the area occupied by the protected object; in that case, it is worth mapping as an area with the given size
  8. there are also other protected objects with obiekt=* property that are not trees. Map’em, but review all tags before you upload:
    • głaz narzutowy Glacial erratic
    • jaskinia entrance to a cave
    • skałka rock formation / crag
    • wodospad waterfall
    • źródło spring
    • inne usually a protected vines plant, but can be anything else/above

Use gdos_pomniki_przyrody_punktowe-init-ref.geojson only to control possible data corruption as it has many features in its original format that is not minified.
